Historic Corner Finds New Life

In Rochester, the building at 440 South Main Street is a commanding presence. Its brick structure and sweeping views make it a sort of guardian over the historic downtown.

This guardian has earned its authority. A natural gas explosion in the early 1990s fortunately hurt no one but left the structure in ruins. The owner pledged to restore the building that had been treasured in his family for three generations.

He did, and the businesses in this beautiful location flourished. Until the pandemic, when a longtime bank tenant defaulted suddenly on their lease. For the first time in decades the large corner unit was vacant, a felt absence on Main Street.

The Thomas Duke Company’s Jon Norton was asked to bring life back to the space.

Quickly, Jon found that Keller Williams, the residential real estate company, had been looking to grow their presence in downtown Rochester. The negotiation was brief. All parties saw the site was an ideal fit for the company.

In leasing this high-visibility corner unit at 440 South Main, the Keller Williams Paint Creek office has brought new vitality to the historic downtown.

Jon has more leasing opportunities in the Rochester area coming soon. Call him today!
