The Duke family has developed and managed real estate in the Detroit area since 1887. With the benefit of four generations’ worth of understanding and expertise, Tom founded the company that bears his name in 1978. Since that time, the Thomas A. Duke Company has grown in services and reputation so that today, in metropolitan Detroit real estate markets, the company name opens doors. As a locally owned, locally invested company, it stands above its competitors for the exceptional quality of its associates and the service they tailor to suit their clients.
Tom has assembled teams of agents specializing in a particular geographic location across the five-county metropolitan area. A client with an interest in any one of these markets is matched with an expert in that market, someone with in-depth knowledge of its particular opportunities and challenges, someone who can deftly and successfully advance the client’s goals.
Tom’s notable recent transactions include the acquisition, renovation, and re-leasing of the 63,000 square-foot Learning Care headquarters building; enabling the assembly and rezoning of the Mercedes Benz of Novi site; the acquisition, renovation, and repositioning of the 125,000 square-foot Powerscourt building in Livonia, as well acquisition, renovation and filling of the 50,000 square-foot mid-century-modern Congress Building.
Tom values healthy relationships between his business and the greater community. He has served on the boards of many professional, governmental, and civic groups, ranging from President of the Western Wayne Oakland County Board of Realtors, Metrobank – where he served as board chair – the Farmington Hills Planning Commission and the Hillsdale College Board of Trustees, and as a board member of the Huron River State Bank. Over the past 25 years, the Thomas A. Duke Company has become not only a pillar of the local business establishment; it has also become a reliable community service partner.
