Friendships Make Business Better

and

After more than 45 years in operation, the brothers who owned Fire Systems of Michigan sold the business. The new owner plans to move the business into a larger facility—leaving the brothers with a building in Redford to sell before they could retire.

They called Steve Valli of the Thomas Duke Company. Twenty-four years earlier they’d discussed real estate with Steve, and though that conversation didn’t result in a transaction, a lasting friendship formed.

Their building at 26109 Grand River had a unique footprint. Subdivided, with differing levels of finish in each section, Steve saw that it would appeal only to a buyer who could make use of its unusual configuration.

But his colleague at the Duke Company, Frank Rakipi, did. Because of his relationship with a long-standing client, Frank knew that the Fire Systems of Michigan building was a perfect fit for them. And it was.

Within three months, Steve and Frank closed the sale of the property—a near-full-price cash offer. The buyer will move his real estate and property management company into the building soon. And the brothers who owned the company for 45 years are enjoying retirement.

Long-time, trusted relationships based on honesty, experience, and hard work not only made this transaction possible. They’re at the heart of everything we do.

We know investors who, despite the uncertainties of the COVID-19 economy, are optimistic about their businesses and interested in buying real estate. If you’ve had doubts about selling your property now, be assured this is still an excellent time.
