Flat Rock Plaza Revitalized with New 40,000-square-foot Family Farm and Home Retail Store

We’re pleased to announce the arrival of Family Farm and Home in Flat Rock, Michigan. The 40,000-square-foot lease was signed at 27313 Telegraph Road, and the new location will open later this fall.

Eric Szerlag and Frank Rakipi were hired by the shopping center’s ownership last year and began the task of repositioning and marketing the 135,000-square-foot retail center that largely sat vacant and ignored by big-box users. The strategy was to divide a former K-Mart space of approximately 90,000 square feet into two smaller, much more marketable units, and to market the spaces to expanding retailers who have overlooked this up-and-coming community. By thinking creatively, working closely with city officials, and having a clear vision, Eric and Frank were able to bring Family Farm and Home as the first piece of the puzzle.

This success brings new life to the center. We are working through multiple offers on other large spaces within the shopping center, and ownership is in the enviable position of having several options to choose from. If you would like to see how the Thomas Duke Company’s approach can change the direction of your retail building, please call Eric Szerlag or Frank Rakipi at 248-476-3700.
